Review: Lëtzebuergesch Wort für Wort
If there is one book that even I as a native speaker thoroughly enjoyed, it’s Lëtzebuergesch Wort für Wort. Granted, it’s written in German, but for those of you who know some German, this book will go a long way. It combines a phrasebook, a basic grammar, an introduction to customs and traditions, and a dictionary. There is no cheaper book on the market that is packed with the usual essential phrases, but also with fruitier ones. Want to flirt in Luxembourgish? Learn how to tell people to go away? Read this book. Learners of Luxembourgish will finally find out how to swear, how to discuss bodily functions, and which words used in Luxembourgish come from French, German, English, and Yiddish. A great little gem.
